There is a saying that refers to “the dark endless days and the dark endless nights.” This can describe how life can feel at times – that there is no light at the end of the tunnel, no end to the sadness, anxiety, stress, or exhaustion, or no reason for your day-to-day struggles. But there is hope. These feelings may be due to many things and that is where counseling can help. By working collaboratively with you and emphasizing your strengths, I will help you find the relief that every person needs to deal with the stressors of life. When you meet with me, you can expect counseling that is non-judgmental, open minded and collaborative. I will help you deal with what bothers you and develop skills so you can face your struggles, as well as improve your mental health and emotional well being.
I am a master’s level licensed psychologist who works with individuals and couples 18 years and older. I have been providing counseling and psychotherapy services in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area for over 10 years. I am certified in EMDR therapy, a type of therapy that helps get to the root of problematic thoughts and behaviors with healing results. I have extensive training in motivational interviewing, and training in hypnotherapy for relaxation and stress relief. My goal is to continue to increase my skills and understanding so I am better able to help people who have experienced trauma or are dealing with other issues to feel better about themselves and their lives.
